THE Birthplace of Manuel Roxas

Located in the city proper; a two-storey hardwood stone house of the First President of the Third Philippine Republic President Manuel Roxas, now a historical shrine.

THE Moro Towers, Sitio Nipa

Half-torn stone structures built in 1814 in order to repel invading Moros and Portuguese colonizers.

THE Capiz National High School

One of the pioneering educational institutions in the province, Capiz National High School (Capiz High School) was established and completely organized in 1914. THE Roxas City Bridge

The old imposing Roxas City Bridge (formerly Capiz Bridge) remained strong and firm after it was built in 1910 overlooking the Panay River. The bridge is a silent witness of various changes that ushered in progress and development in the City. Like the old bridge, equally alluring is the huge stretch of Panay River that transverse the very heart of the City. Passing the major edifice of the City, Roxas City River has been compared and dubbed as the "Venice of the Visayas".

Ang Panubli-On

Ang Panubli-On (Roxas City Museum) originally built in 1910 as a water tank; it now stands as a museum. It has memorabilia of illustrious sons and daughters of Roxas City; collections of religious icons, artifacts and artworks.

Baybay Beach

3 kilometers from the city proper, this clean black sand beach has beach houses, motorboats for boating and fishing. Also a good place for water sports like skim boarding and water skiing or for simply basking in the sun, swimming in the cool water and taking a walk along the shore feeling the waves lap at your feet.

Olotayan Island

30 minute pump boat ride from Banica wharf, Roxas City. This 53 hectares island is blessed with colorful fishes and coral reefs. Its crystal-clear water and abundant marine life is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. The island’s beach is carpeted with tiny crushed shells called cascaho. With its serene and "out of the city hassle", this quiet little island is for couples and businessmen who wants to take a break from it all.

Mantalinga Island

A kilometer away from the shoreline of Baybay Beach, Roxas City, it has been identified by the Department of Tourism as an ideal spot for scuba divers and a perfect rotunda for sailboat (dilayag) and kayaking contest. Recently named "Good Luck Island" by DOT consultants, the place is believed by local fisher folks as source of luck when names of their fish boats are written on the sides of the island before it goes fishing for the first time.

Our Lady Of The Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral

The Roxas City Metropolitan Cathedral built in 1877; reconstructed in 1954 is one of the oldest in Panay Island. The church is a silent witness to the events that has unfolded in the city over the past centuries. Its imposing view is being complemented by its location which is beside the city plaza fronting the Panay River and the old (now Roxas City Bridge). Fiesta lights add glitter to the church.

Cadimahan River Tour

(Libotong River Tour) - Located at LawisBaybay, Roxas City approximately 10 minutes ride away from the center of the city thru the public vehicles: tricycle, taxi, multicab. There you can experience the refreshing and enriching ride thru river while observing different ways of fishing, amidst green mangroves and associated wildlife, and interacting with fisher folks as they tell their stories.

Hortus Botanicos

Located at Brgy. Milibili, Roxas City, which is around 3.12 kms. from the city proper and 950 m away from the national road; its location is ideal for seminars, hands-on trainings program, retreats or simply for somewhere to unwind: A collection of both introduced and endemic plants that are properly labeled and arranged according to families.

Culajao Mangrove Eco-Park

Experience a breath-taking view of the 4.69 hectare mangrove reservation zone; a reforestation project of the Roxas City Government in partnership with Katunggan Sa Culajao Salbaron Association (KACUSA), Inc. and PEW Fellows Program in Marine Conservation to address the dwindling mangrove forest in the City of Roxas.

Lapu-Lapu Farm

It is composed of fish cages squarely arranged though bamboo poles floating above the water and piled above the fish nets in the brackish waters of the City’s estuaries. The fish pen is solely for the breeding of lapu-lapu, a distinct fish locally known in the area.

People's Park (La Playa de Roxas)

Found at the end of Arnaldo Boulevard, roughly a three- minute tricycle ride from Roxas City Airport and a stone's throw away from Roxas City Seafood Plaza is a Seashore-manmade Park. With a cool breeze blowing "round the clock" and the sound of the ocean waves splashing against the park’s break water (when the tide rolls in), this place is ideal for family picnics at daytime and a romantic date at night. Take a guitar and just jam with your friends as it gives you a "Caribbean feel" with its mixture of "cobble-stone-feel" footpath, palm trees and the scent of the sea or just lounge and relax to a sun setting over the Visayan sea.

Tadiao Bridge, Brgy. Linateran

"The site of first historical battle against Spaniards" Pan-ay was the center of the first act of revolt against the Spaniards in the Province of Capiz. This was headed by General Esteban D. Contreras, where the first battle happened on May 3, 1897, at Sitio Tadiao, Barangay Linateran, near a junction road going to Barrio Agojo. The insurrections or the Agraviados were under the command of Col. Pascual Barza.

Napti Island

About three to four hectares big located at the Sibuyan Sea, fronting Brgy. Agojo, Panay, this inhabited island has white colored beach that is actually due to accumulated skeletal coral remains. Plenty of live coral reefs are abundant near its shore. Fishing enthusiasts and gourmets alike have wonderful time here for the plentiful fish and lobsters. There is also a small cave, about 100 meters long and winds several feet below the surface across the island commands a breathtaking view of Roxas City and Panay.

Buntod Beach

About a kilometer long and is located far from the inhabited section of Pan-ay; one of the cleanest beaches in Capiz; has fine black sand with a beach free of jellyfish all year round and its water is cool and clear. It is approximately 10 minutes by jeepneys, cars and tricycles from the town. It is also accessible by speedboats or pump boats from any points of Capiz.

Mangrove Reforestation

70 hectares of mangroves found in the Barangays of Pawa, Buntod, Jamul-awon and Lat-asan, Panay, Capiz. Experience passing through the Cathedral walls of the coastline.

Santa Monica Parish Church

This awe-inspiring church monument reveals the Spanish grandeur in Pan-ay town; a small fortress; it is about 250 ft long and 80 ft wide with 9-ft thick walls of coral blocks. The floor is colored marble which shine in subdue tone in misty light. The central altar is an elaborated sculpture retablo of silver and hardwood in florid Baroque style. The lateral altars have intricately carved tiers of niches for images of saints. Sta. Monica is the patron saint. The church's five-story belfry shelters a huge antique bell and surrounded by 8 smaller bells. Shrouded with many enchanting tales, the huge bell holds more fascinating truth. It was cast from 70 sacks of coins believed to have been contributed by the citizens of the town. It is seven feet in diameter, five feet high and weighs 10.4 tons. In fact, it is estimated to be the largest in Southeast Asia.

Weny's Butterfly Garden

An integrated farm where one can find a variety of herbs, vegetables and ornamental plants grown organically. You can also go fishing in the ponds for tilapia, bulan-bulan, puyo, gurami and other endemic freshwater fishes. Another interesting sight is the butterfly farm where one can find various local species of butterfly in different colors and you can observe how it is bred in captivity.

This is the dance of the mountain tribe, the vanishing remnants of pre-Malayan Indonesian immigrants to Panay. The dance retains to this day the original choreography arranged around ancient Indonesian fertility rites.

Pangilatan Falls

Located in Brgy. Artuz, Tapaz, Capiz is composed of a main waterfalls which has a water drop off of about 81 ft., countless mini falls whose water drop offs are between less than a foot to as high as 7 ft., the total length of which is at least 3.5 kms and could go as far as 8 kms; and a viewing area on the highest point of Brgy. Artuz where one could see the rolling hills and mountains of Tapaz and neighboring towns as far as Calinog, Iloilo in the south and Libacao, Aklan in the north, which could rival the famous chocolate hills of Bo

It also considered as one of Panay Island's center of education trade, economic activity and logistics. Once known as the Municipality of Capiz,the origin of the present name of the province, was renamed into Roxas City in honor of native Manuel Roxas, the First President of the Philippine Third Republic, after it became a chartered city on May 12, 1951.
